Tuppada Koda (ತುಪ್ಪದ ಕೊಡ ) is the top of the fort, as it was used to store Ghee (tuppa - ತುಪ್ಪ )
Fort is also called ಏಳು ಸುತ್ತಿನ ಕೋಟೆ as it built as series of seven enclosure walls
Its also called as Kallina Kote / Ukkinna kote
It was built in parts by the Palegar Nayakas, Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan.

History:
ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗದ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ಮೊದಲು ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರೋದು ಒನಕೆ ಓಬವ್ವ
ಮದಕರಿ ನಾಯಕನ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಓಬವ್ವ ಮೆರೆದ ಶೌರ್ಯದ ಕಥೆ ಮೇಲಿನ ವೀಡಿಯೊದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ.
obavanna kindi - place where obavva killed soldiers of hyder ali (father of tippu sultan) and protected madkari nayaka's kingdom from invasion.
