Water from river lakshmana ತೀರ್ಥ(ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ ತೀರ್ಥ ) falls as Irpu or iruppu.
Its Very near from Nagarhole National Park ( ನಾಗರಹೊಳೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನ)(Rajeev Gandhi National Park) is located 94 km away from Mysore.

About 48 km from Virajpet on the way to Nagarahole.

History.
Laskmana teertha is named after the story which says "Rama and lakshmana were in search of sita , when she was kidnapped by Raavana.lakshmana shooted an arrow into earth to quench his thirst".This water today flows as Theertha (holy water provided at temples).

Why Go there ?????
If some one is looking for a water fall with very good scenic view and chance to have bath in it then Irpu is ideal
Visitors are allowed to get into to the water have bath.
The water falls from a good height so it offers a good massage to body ;-)

Ideally 3-4 hours will be sufficient.
